Finally!
My little girl’s room has been done for a few weeks, but GEEZ are the holidays busy, amIright? I mean, awesome, insanely fun busy, but busy nonetheless. Somehow I just couldn’t find any time to photograph, edit, blog, all that good stuff.
But the kids went back to school today and the first thing I did was head upstairs and shoot some pics for ya! Let’s dive right in, shall we? (I’m about to bombard you with a ridiculous amount of photos, I hope you’re ready)…
The before (YIKES!)…
…aaaaaand the after!
Before: Hodge Podge, USA…
…and after: Her DIY Dry Erase Board, AKA The Smartest Thing I’ve Ever Done.
I love that little chair. A yard sale find (of course!), perfect for her size. She sits in it while teaching her friends, her brother, her sister…anyone who will let her;). The little pitcher has dry erase markers, and the stool is the perfect spot to rest the book she reads to her ‘class,’ complete with pointer. Seriously. This kid is a natural.
Before: Drab.
After: FAB! (ok, I really need to quit this nonsense, my apologies)
You’ve seen the lamp, the dresser, and the gallery wall already. The coat rack is from my single girl days – used to have it in my girly apartment, once upon a time. It’s pink, so naturally I stuck it in here!
And I needed a place to house her 87,463 stuffed animals, so when I spotted this large bin for $12.99 at HomeGoods, I grabbed that bad boy!
Speaking of animals, since she’s such a HUGE animal lover, I fell in love with this bunny nightlight from Target.
I couldn’t help myself this morning, and stuck some forsythias in her pitcher. We’re just going to go ahead and pretend it’s Spring, mmmkay?
Oh! Back to the before and afters. Geez, I can get distracted…
Before:
And the same wall now…
You might remember the curtains and bookcase, but in case you missed those, you can check them out here and here, respectively.
Her white quilt is from HomeGoods, and picked up a colorful rug from Target (sensing a pattern?!)…
Here’s another before shot:
And after:
The pink bed and the wall lamp can be found in this post, in case you missed that one too.
And finally, one more thing to tell you about. I needed some piece of art for the wall next to her bed. Didn’t want it to be anything busy, since the art above her bed had a lot going on. I found an old white frame, and had a lightbulb idea. I cut the blanket she came home from the hospital in, framed it, then hot glued a clothespin to the outside of the glass. Glued some pretty ribbon to the clothespin, and now it’s a fun way to switch out cute pics! The colors were right, and it’s perfect for this sentimental mama who loves to see that blue and pink striped reminder of her baby days.
So that about wraps it up!
Now onto my other daughter’s room…;)
Just perfect and well worth the wait! So many cute/sweet ideas that I will stealing – thank you! Can’t wait to see daughter #’2’s bedroom in the near future.
thanks, Lynn! glad you liked it!
Love the pink pig with hearts and also the baby blanket picture!
Thanks, Susan!
Love the picture frame idea. Now that we have little C, I feel like I’m constantly looking for ways to keepsake all of his things.
