A Cozy Christmas Bedroom

Something I did for the first time last year was decorate our master bedroom for Christmas. It was so comfy and cozy, and I vowed to do it again this year. Most of it is the same, but we did do a couple new things…

And just like in yesterday’s post, a bit of this was “inspired” (er, more like required – ha!) by our new four legged addition, Charlie. Our bed is white…here’s a pic from last year:

…and this is Charlie.

I know, I know. I should make him sleep in his dog bed on the floor. But this dog…he is the ultimate snugglebug. He was rescued in Turkey in a rainstorm, wandering the streets. When I think about where he must have slept every night, and the fact that he just wants to cuddle up close to his people, well, I can’t say no. He does sleep at the bottom of the bed though, even though he’d love to be all up on our pillows!

But you can see, he’s got black hair. Black hair + white duvet = Crazy Liz. And he actually is a minimal shedder. I swear God gave us this dog just for us. He knew what I could handle;) So I remembered this spare cozy fleece gray blanket in my son’s closet. I grabbed it for like $5 a couple years ago at Walmart. It’s a twin size, but I put it sideways over our white duvet.

You can’t tell, but it only comes up to where the sheets fold over. No one’s the wiser, solves our black hair problem (easily washed too – I throw it in every other day!), and was $5! No brainer.

Another new thing I did in here was use the swag I had on my dining room table last year above our closet:

Here’s what it looked like last year along the table:

If you saw Monday’s post, you know I did something new for the centerpiece this year, so this swag was just looking for a new spot.

I haven’t been able to fully make up my mind on that, but I think I dig it. 😉

Just like last year, I hung our stockings on our wall lamps and added little trees on our nightstands…

Oh, and I moved my shiplap frame up here. It swapped places with my bird cage thingy in the dining room!

Always fun to switch things up around your house. It’s free, but feels brand new!

Cotton wreaths just feel so cozy to me.

Another way to cozy up a space is a basket of pillows and blankets. Bonus points if they’re plaid;)

I didn’t take any pics of the other side of the room because everything’s the same, but I’ll link up last year’s bedroom (and any other related posts) for those of you who are new here, in case you have any questions!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by…and Merry Christmas!
