Christmas Chalkboard

You might remember my Fall chalkboard? The one with all the Fall words?

Once upon a time, it was just a boring brass picture frame. I spray painted the glass insert with a few coats of chalkboard spray paint, and painted the frame a nice blue-grey color.

Makes for the perfect seasonal decor, as I switch it up whenever I want:)

Here it is, all set for Christmas.

I just used a stencil for the words “all is” – and filled it in with my nifty chalk marker (I’m uhhhbsessed with that thing!), and freehanded calm and bright. Added some stars, and we’re done.

Oh, and I added some garland from Michaels too:)

Love that I have “new” art in five minutes…and festive, too!

  1. So cute! I have trouble getting the chalk markers to come all the way off, especially if you leave for a while. Do you have a trick for this?

  2. What brand is your chalk marker? I ordered some from Zulily a while back but they are basically just dry erase makers and I’m afraid they won’t wipe clean off the chalkboard.

  3. Hi there! Does your chalk marker rub off or will you have to repaint?

  4. Shelly Keller says:

I, too, am curious about the chalk marker. I bought one at JoAnn Fabrics and it did NOT come off. I had to repaint my chalkboard 🙁

  5. I have some chalkboard markers from the container store, but I have seen them at Staples and Michael’s…all I use is a wet paper towel on my chalkboard.

  6. I too have trouble getting my chalkboard markers to come off. What is your tip to getting it off. I have used wet clothes, wipes, ect. But it still shows through.
