Seriously. HOW IS IT FRIDAY ALREADY?!

Why are these weeks zooming by?!

Crazy. I don’t get it. But I never will, so let’s move on to some Favorite Things!

1. The Perfect Summer Dress

I mean, I can’t even tell you how ridiculously comfortable this dress is.

Major bummer, I bought it last Summer at Old Navy, and I’ve looked and they don’t carry it anymore, BUT, I’m gonna link up some super cute dresses that I think will fit the bill. There is nothing like a dress that feels like pajamas, looks adorable, and makes you feel like a million bucks. Am I right, ladies?! I wore it to Haven last year (which is going on right now and I wish I was there!), so you might’ve seen this pic:

I mean, when it’s so hot outside, you want something that’s airy and loose – easy breezy like a summer’s day. (Total cheese, I know, but you know it’s true.) 😉 It’s good for cookouts, poolside, dressed up with wedges, or dressed down with flip flops and a messy bun. I wear dresses all the time in the summer – my kids and husband ask why I’m dressed up, but I tell you, it’s sheer comfort. I love a good dress to beat the heat.

2. Crosby Schoolhouse Floor Lamp

Been doing a lot of summer reading lately, and I have to say, when I’m curled up on the couch with a good book, nothing beats a task lamp. And this one from Target is just so good lookin’. The contrast of the black just makes my eyes happy. It’s been moved to quite a few places around the family room, as you can see;)

If you’re looking for a cute floor lamp, check this one out (it’s on sale right now too!).

3. Fifteen Years

The hubs and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary this week. Talk about time flying. I don’t even understand how that’s possible, but somehow the math adds up. He surprised us and took off work (it also happens to be our son’s birthday – quite an anniversary gift 9 years ago!!), and we had a great family day. Started with him making us his famous french toast, per the birthday boy’s request.  I knew when I said “I do” that he would be the kind of husband and dad to do stuff like that. What I didn’t know was what exactly the future would look like. Would we be blessed with the children we dreamed of? Would we end up living in this same town, or would work or other things take us somewhere to start anew? So much unknown, as you walk down that aisle into a brand new future together. I just remember smiling so big that I thought my face would explode. I knew that no matter what, we’d face this new world together and it would be ok.

We’ve had our ups and downs. More surprises than that young naive 23 year old had any clue about. We’ve faced death, health problems, ER trips, awakenings of faith, new jobs, new homes, and of course, the biggest of them all: we’ve brought three amazing people into the world. In three short years. Talk about surprises;)

I wouldn’t trade this life we built for anything in the world.

Fifteen years. Just like that. Here’s to many more mornings of french toast and kids dancing in the kitchen. And always choosing each other, over and over and over again.

Have a wonderful weekend, my friends! XO
