Thrifty Fall Decor, Part 2

Decorating for Fall (especially Halloween) can be done SO thriftily. I mean, have you walked  in a Dollar Tree lately? Oh. My. Goodness.  I kid you not, I spent less than 9 bucks there yesterday, and was able to do quite a bit of decorating in the dining room. Check it out…

Seriously, how freggin’ awesome is that spiderweb?? A buck. And QUITE the impact, wouldn’t you say?!

I also snagged those black birds (I like to call them Ravens, since we’re in Bawmer hon’!
{translation: B-A-L-T-I-M-O-R-E}

I actually bought those pumpkins last year (from the Dollar Tree of course!) and spray painted them an off-white to go with my decor then. (Hence the title – Part 2 – you can check out my Thrifty Fall Decor Part 1 here – back when the dining room was black and gold!).

I had stenciled a W on the one to personalize it a bit. Works just fine in the new dining room too – though I kinda wish it were white, and not a cream, but not losing sleep over it;).

The leaves scattered around the table were also one of my purchases from the Dollar Tree.

And of course, my Girls Craft Night Chevron Pumpkin makes an appearance on the buffet as well. That was a Michael’s purchase, and didn’t spend more than $6 on it, I believe…

The chalkboard was one I made a while ago, and was pretty much free, since it was an old tin tray Mom gave me, and of course I always  have a can of chalkboard spray paint on hand, right?!

Moving onto the dining room table…

Had the candles and hurricanes, so just need some popcorn kernels and some filler for my mirror/tray. The Dollar Tree has bags and bags of these mini gourds/pumpkin stuff. Perfect! Remember that tray from the Early Fall Centerpiece? Two whole dollars later and now I have my centerpiece! Can’t beat that, can you? I’m telling you, hurricanes are the greatest decorating investment EVER. You can fill those suckers with stuff for ANY holiday and hardly spend a dime – or in this case, a dollar;)

And for the chandelier…

I love these little guys! They sell these packs of black paper bats – there’s like 20 or so in there. I picked up some orange ribbon, and cut strips. I dabbed a bit of glue on the back of one bat, laid the ribbon down, dabbed another bit of glue on the ribbon, and laid the matching shaped bat on top. This way I was able to attach the ribbon to the bat without it showing where. Since those bats move, and you’d be able to see the unattractive back, I thought this was a good way to ensure all sides are perfect. Make sense? Then I just tied it around the chandelier arms. Arms? Is that what they’re even called? I’m sorry, it’s Friday and it’s late. Who blogs on a Friday night, you might be thinking? This  lady. Wasn’t planning on it, but trying to pull myself out of the depression that is watching our O’s lose Game 5. It was either that, or continue to eat my way through the Choco Mint Chip. I thought my health and waistline would appreciate the blogging idea more, so here I am, sharing my thrifty decorating ideas with you! Man, I can get off topic…

So even though I’m a little late on the Halloween bandwagon, I hope I’m not too late for you to get yourself over to a Dollar Tree for some goodies! Amazing what can be done with a few bucks:)
