Ok folks. I *may* have gone off the deep end with this one. I’ll let you be the judge. {But be kind! 😉 }
You may recall we got our boy a bed recently and retired the crib once and for all. I saved the crib, for future nieces and/or nephews…or to do some fun stuff with the pieces while we’re waiting for that day to come;) Actually, we got our oldest a new full sized bed and handed down her twin sized one to her little brother. So we had a pink and white polka dot dust ruffle that wasn’t being put to any use, and couldn’t fit her new large bed. Hmm…here’s where the wheels start moving…
So I’m looking at the spring part of the crib…
…and the pink dust ruffle is staring at me too…I start cutting the pink away from the white part that stays under the mattress…
…I start wrapping the fabric around the spring…
I had JUST enough by the time I got all the way around it. I didn’t glue or do anything, just tucked all the edges inside and they stayed put.
I hung it with two nails – just sat the grids directly on them.
And now, with the helps of some clothespins, we have a big ol’ bulletin board to hang all our daughter’s stuff, like pictures, drawings, birthday cards, whatever…
So what do you think? Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs or genius?
Hubs had a pretty genius idea – spray paint the grid part pink to match the border. If the weather EVER warms up, I might just do it…but since it’s March 25th and I’m staring at snow falling down, who knows if that’s ever gonna happen?!
Anyway, there’s my quick and free kinda crazy-kinda cool project for this snow day! Happy, um, ‘Spring?’ (sorry, couldn’t resist – get it – crib spring? Ok, this weather’s starting to make me go totally off my rocker. I’m signing off before I lose some followers…;) )
