Happy Friday, friends! Can you believe this is the 6th edition of Favorite Things Friday already?! CRAZY how time flies, isn’t it?

Here’s what’s making me happy this week…

1. Poufs/Ottomans

I just love these little guys. We bought ours from Marshalls two years ago – I know this because this post (professing my love for them) appeared on my Facebook Memory yesterday;), and I’m amazed at how well they’re holding up. I mean, you can see in this pic (which was taken last night – as you can see, we have still NOT gotten very far on the closet/office transformation! Maybe in 2018…<face palm>), that they are well loved. I think a couple poufs in a family room just make it feel cozier and complete. I also use them to prop my feet up. They can add texture, color, and just fun to any space! I can’t link mine up since they’re from Marshalls and purchased a while back, but here are a couple I found I think are cute!

2. An Organized Shirt Drawer!

I know, I know, weird thing to get excited about, but just hear me out. My husband has approximately 67,234 t-shirts. *Slight* exaggeration. He’ll wear the same few shirts, they get washed, folded, put away. RIGHT ON TOP of the other 67,231 in the drawer. Hear what I’m saying? The majority of his t-shirts get no love whatsoever because you can’t even see them. So I threw them all on the bed, folded them and went with this system (see above photo) instead. Stacking them up this way ensures they all get seen and worn in constant rotation. It took all of ten minutes, and once I was done, I scratched my head, wondering why the heck I haven’t always done this?!

3. People Who Get You.

I have this cousin. We didn’t really even know each other as kids, but thanks to the beauty that is Facebook, have connected and she is one of my nearest and dearest. I have so much love and respect for her, and the feeling is mutual. I know this because she tells me. That’s what I’m getting at here, friends. When you find that special person who just flat out tells you how loved you are, who gets you, accepts your flaws and when you feel like you’re failing, picks you up, says, “I know. Me too.” And that you can be that person for them in return…it’s such an incredible gift. I’m so so thankful I have her in this life.

She texted me earlier in the week saying she had been listening to Jen Hatmaker’s podcast and was in need of some “deep convo.” See why I love this girl?? I texted her back: YES. Come over for coffee this week? And she did. On Wednesday.

There was deep convo, along with tears and laughter over coffee and pumpkin bread, and it was comfort for our souls. (There was also talking of Hearth and Hand with Magnolia’s line at Target, and paint colors because I mean, we aren’t THAT deep and focused;). If you don’t have anyone like that in your life, I hope you’ll try and seek them out. Because there is nothing like being in the company of friends (and/or family!) who truly understand you. They love you for you. You don’t have to be anything else. And they know YOU get THEM, understand them, love them, and they don’t have to be anything else either.

Isn’t that beautiful?

I hope you have a weekend full of pouf sitting, drawer organizing, and deep convo-ing! 😉 XO
