It’s SUCH a great feeling when you finally figure out the puzzle that is a gallery wall.
When you find just the right balance of size, shape, and color…
…and it all comes together in a display of fun and beauty that speaks to you. I just wrapped up this particular one in my daughter’s room and I’m thrilled with it.
Here’s a little about my process:
First, I play around with different frames, mirrors, art, etc. on the floor. I start with the biggest thing first. In this case, the mirror. (This is the dining room mirror that got replaced when we bought The Clock, for those super observant readers:). Initially, I had this vertically, but it looked lost. I moved it to the horizontal position, and it worked much better. I like to add different shapes, not just squares and rectangles, so my arrow was perfect, as was the starburst mirror (from HomeGoods, used to be in our bedroom, until I replaced it). I picked up the XOXO at HomeGoods last week and the gold and glitter was PERFECT for this room.
The art under the arrow was a major score at Hobby Lobby last week – $15 THEN 50% off! In the exact colors of her room?! Yes, please!
The other side needed a pop of color for balance, so I hot glued some 3D hearts I made out of cardstock onto the glass of a frame. Easy peasy art, and provided just the right amount of color.
Gallery walls are so much fun. I love the story they tell. I love how each one is unique.
This one – full of hugs, kisses, hearts, bravery…and some sparkle.
Pretty much sums up my girl;)
LOVE the dresser color. It looks great with the white pulls. I love a gallery wall. Trying to create one in my home.
Thanks so much, Paige! Good luck with your wall! 🙂
