Easy Spring Centerpiece

Yes, we’re under a Winter Storm Warning as I type this post. But the Spring bug has hit me hard, and I don’t care if snow is on its way, it’s SPRING inside my house! I’m having so much fun decorating for spring this year, and I think it’s because for the first time ever, I have light and bright colors everywhere in our home! This past year our house has gone through a major change, from the kitchen makeover, to the dining room makeover, to the family room makeover…all three rooms going from dark to light. I mean, going from a black china cabinet to an aqua one sure does make you ready for Spring, right?!

This year I decided to try something new for the dining room centerpiece. I now have my easy no sew burlap runner on the table all the time, but we’ve had a pastel plaid runner that I’ve always used for spring. I decided instead of swapping, to just use both! Then I grabbed some forsythia branches from Michael’s (50% off this week, holla!). I bought 4 of them, stuck them in my lovely HomeGoods white pitcher that I love so much, and placed it all on a mirrored tray I picked up at a yard sale forever ago and spray painted white (it was a yucky brass). WHEW! Still with me? OH! And I have a bunch of SUPER lightweight eggs that I’m pretty sure were my very first Easter decor that I ever had – dating back to like, my single days, so you know that was a while ago! I just hung them on some of the branches. And we’re done!

I love the look of forsythias – they just seem so wild, untamed, and rustic. And SO happy.

See that blue china cabinet in the back? Can you see why I’m so ready for this season? My dining room was made for spring, I believe. 😉

After this photo shoot, my kids “helped” decorate and placed all our egg placemats around the table, and their little bunnies on the tray…

I think they shall stay.
