Decorating the New Kitchen Shelves for Christmas

Remember a couple months ago when I shared my new kitchen shelves? I’m so happy with these guys – it was SUCH an inexpensive project (thank you, Ikea!), and they solved a major decorating dilemma I’ve battled for years. That itty bitty wall was finally solved…oh happy day!

And now that it’s Christmastime, I’ve added a few things on here, and swapped out the pumpkins and apples for greens and candy canes;)

Have you seen those white houses in Target’s Dollar Spot?!! I snagged the last three and I am obsessed! I have the other two on my dining room table.

And seriously – that candle from Target’s Hearth and Hand line is AMAZEBALLS. I bought the big galvanized metal one too for the family room! Other than those two things, I had everything else in my bins.

I have to give a shout out to my 11 year old. I didn’t know how to secure the stocking garland to the shelves – painter’s tape is blue and would show, and clear tape would peel off the black spray paint. She suggested using craft paint on the painters tape. BRILLIANT. That little bit of black you see there – that’s painted blue tape!

Using stuff like greens (free from the place we got our tree), and candy canes (in those mason jars) makes for instant and very thrifty festive decor. I’m all about simple and easy this year!

Alrighty, I’m off to (hopefully!) finish up my shopping – but just wanted to share something with you guys, since I’m so behind on the Christmas tour this year!! Bad little blogger;)

Hope you have a great day! XO
