It’s baaaaack!
Sorry about the mini hiatus from FTF, but I’m sure many of you can relate to the drowning feeling Fall always brings. With the return of school and sports and life and work and appointments – it’s just Crazytown USA these days. I can barely stay afloat, and Favorite Things suffered. Boo!
But I’m back with some goodies today, so let’s dive in…
1. A New Pillow
It amazes me how one tiny throw pillow can just bring a couch alive! I found this one online this week (in all honesty, I was ten bucks short for free shipping, and I’d seen this particular pillow pop up from time to time so I went ahead and got it…and scored the free shipping – win win!). It couldn’t be cuter!
You might’ve seen it in my previous post on the new family room setup:
That fringe! I’m in love.

2. Heritage Hill Glass Jars
You guys. I am like a crazy person these days, trying to make our kitchen work for us as best as it possibly can. I have been trying to think of every single detail (you IG followers might’ve seen the whole measuring cup debacle on my stories – I’ll share that next week on here!). One thing I use almost every day is flour. I bake a lot, and I was using these smaller glass jars for flour and sugar – they were tall, but the openings were small. I couldn’t even fit my one cup scoop in there, and pretty much everything I bake needs at LEAST one cup of flour. And it was in my pantry. So that means every day, I’d walk to my pantry, open a small flour canister, and scoop twice the amount because I couldn’t fit my one cup in there. (OMG #firstworldproblemsmuch??). Anyway, yes, that sounds ridiculous, I am aware, but it was such an easy fix with some new jars, and has made my life so much easier! I leave them on my counter too – if I need two cups of flour? BAM! I open up my jar that’s sitting right in front of me and I am good to go!
I picked these up this week – they happened to be at my Walmart! I searched and searched all over every store and no luck, and then happened to run in Walmart for some food items and spotted them. That one on the right is two gallon and the left is one gallon (sugar’s in there). You can’t fully appreciate these guys in the photo – that two gallon puppy is HUGE! Another bonus? Frees up space in my tiny pantry! Love them so much. I also got a .5 gallon one that’s currently housing candy corn. 😉 I couldn’t get over how affordable they are, too.

3. Salt Shaker and Pepper Grinder
Don’t you just LOVE when you spot exactly what you need when you need it? As I said above, I’ve been tweaking the kitchen to make it as functional as possible, and noticed I must go in our lazy susan about 837 times a day for salt and pepper. Ok, could be a slight exaggeration, but it’s a lot. And why?! If I just had some little wood salt and pepper shakers that were so cute I could leave out on display, I wouldn’t have to reach down, turn the lazy susan around to find what I need, close it back up again 837 times a day anymore! I could just grab it from the counter when I need it. Wow, I’m sounding like the laziest person on the planet, but I promise you, these little changes really make a difference! I figure, if you spend most of your time in one room, you might as well make it function as best it can for you.
I was at Target and these jumped right out at me – they were literally exactly what I had in mind:

Alrighty friends, that wraps up FTF for today! I hope you all have a great weekend and thanks for sharing part of your day with me! XO
