So I have this boxwood wreath obsession. But they’re so stinkin’ expensive! And you know me, if there’s a way to do it on the cheap, I WILL FIND IT. 😉 I got to thinking…if only there was a way to make these…and then the thought occurred to me: ummmmm, LIZ YOU HAVE BOXWOOD BUSHES OUTSIDE YOUR FRONT DOOR!!!?? DUH! HOW HAVE I NEVER THOUGHT TO DO THIS??? Sorry for the shouting people, but seriously. I made four boxwood wreaths for $5. Yes, that is correct. I had two grapevine wreaths here already, and picked up two tiny ones at Michaels at 50% off, so yep. Five. Dollars. Four wreaths.
I can’t even. I simply cannot.
Is your mind blown yet? Because mine sure is!
I just went outside, clipped some pieces off the back and underneath the bushes (they needed a good trim anyway!), and inspected them for any creepy crawlers. I also gave them a good shake…because I’m completely paranoid when it comes to creepy crawlers;)
Came inside, and just started sticking them in the wreath!
I honestly hardly even used the wire. They stayed so well just by sticking them in the grapevine!
Initially, I was just planning on making this one for the family room…
But then…I had to make two little ones for my dining room china cabinet…
…and couldn’t stop! Had a smaller grapevine wreath in my stash and made one for the kitchen!
(Sorry for the pics – it’s raining today and I have no idea how to work a camera when there’s no natural light. Combine that with zero patience when I have something to share with you, and well, you have mediocre pics. My bad).
I mean. I’m just in love with these new additions.
I don’t know how long they’ll last – my mom suggested maybe spraying them with water which I thought was kinda genius, but honestly I have no idea if they’ll be long gone in a couple weeks. But if that’s the case, I’ll just go back out and pick some more! For the price, I’m totally good with that. I made these a week ago and they’re definitely dry, but still look good. Fingers crossed…
Stay tuned for more Christmas posts this week!

Hi there! I’m Liz, a former teacher-turned-stay-at-home mom to three kids, with a passion to create a warm and inviting home on a budget. This blog all started when I’d put the babies down for a nap, and squeeze in a project during those precious couple of hours! My hope is that you visit this page and feel inspired to do a little “naptime decorating” of your own. Thank you so much for stopping by!
Absolutely love them! All of them are just perfect!! Will they blast a lo bg time?
Blessings…
